RETREAT RECAP / ICELAND / EPM X STRALA BY ERIN LEWIS

RETREAT RECAP / ICELAND / EPM X STRALA BY ERIN LEWIS

We just got back from our fire and ice flow retreat in Iceland. This was a special collaboration with Tara Stiles and Mike Taylor of STRALA YOGA exploring this spectacular landscape full of glaciers, geysers, waterfalls, thermal spas, and learning how to find ease and flow in our lives.

BEHIND THE SCENES AT EPM

BEHIND THE SCENES AT EPM

As this global crisis continues, people are scrambling to adapt their lives to fit the situation. A huge adjustment for people has been trying to find a way to work with the obstacles of distance. We chatted about this recently and realized, unless you know us personally or have been a regular in our community, you may not know that much about how things work behind the scenes. As a small company, we love being able to be transparent about how we operate and make things happen. So we decided we should share a little here—some of it might surprise you!

SHARING HOPE FROM AROUND THE WORLD

SHARING HOPE FROM AROUND THE WORLD

These are uncertain times we live in. As we’ve seen over the last several weeks, the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) has impacted the global community in ways we could have never predicted. As travel junkies here at EAT.PRAY.MOVE, the restrictions on international travel (not to mention restrictions on leaving our homes, in some cases) can feel disheartening. And at the same time, we know that this is a time to call upon the tools we use in our yoga practice; meditation, breathing, stillness, acceptance, nonattachment, non-judgment.

10 TRAVEL HACKS FROM A YOGI

10 TRAVEL HACKS FROM A YOGI

Feeling some #wanderlust, or just need to get away? Whether you have to force yourself to take time off or you’re a frequent flyer, traveling can be taxing to the body and spirit. As someone with both a personal yoga practice and a lust for travel, I see no difference in intentionally approaching my practice on the mat and intentionally preparing for a trip. Over the years I’ve developed some tricks to keep myself healthy and happy (not to mention sane) while traveling.

GUEST POST / FRIENDS MINI RETREAT

GUEST POST / FRIENDS MINI RETREAT

Today’s guest post is one that makes us SO happy! We recently saw that some of our past guests from the US all gathered for a mini-retreat on their own to reconnect as friends, do some yoga and enjoy an enticing location in Palm Springs, CA. One of the things we love most about our retreats is that people from all over the world get to meet other guests who, despite being different ages, nationalities and backgrounds, have similar interests and life philosophies. While we always stress that our retreats are chances to go inward and restore yourself, an added bonus is often the surprising friendships that are formed.

GIVE BACK / THREADS OF LIFE

GIVE BACK / THREADS OF LIFE

We just got back from our annual time in Bali, and it was just as refreshing as we expected. We always find the culture and people to be a breath of fresh air.

While in Bali, we were able to visit Threads of Life, our Give Back partner for the location. (For our retreats, we donate a portion of our proceeds to local non-profits to offset our traveler footprint and engage with the community we are visiting.)

KARMA CONNECTIONS / OUR FIRST HOLIDAY GIFT GUIDE!

KARMA CONNECTIONS / OUR FIRST HOLIDAY GIFT GUIDE!

Hello everyone! We hope your winter is off to a lovely start and your holidays have been full of love. We decided this year would be a great time to start our first ever gift guide for the holiday season! While retreats are great, our ultimate goal is to provide tools that might bring mindfulness and presence to your everyday lives. So we have compiled a list of things that really continue the theme of finding focus and calm in the chaos of life, whether it's using yoga, rituals, meditation, art or manifesting your goals. There are even some ways to bring the smells and textures of world travels into your home. Now is a great time to start looking toward the new year and cultivating habits that help you ground yourself and bring possibility. We hope you enjoy it!

2014 : WHAT A YEAR / PART 1

I know we're not quite all the way through this year, and as we're still looking forward to the holiday season and to our final retreat of 2014 to ring in the New Year in Iceland under the Northern Lights I thought it's a good time to stop and reflect on the amazing year it's been thus far.

This year we began the season in Marrakesh, Morocco at our amazing location of Peacock Pavilions - a "do good boutique hotel" in an olive grove outside the city. There were two amazing weeks there, one classic itinerary and one luxury retreat, filled with great guests as always. We also had two more weeks in Marrakesh this past September and began the "

Give Back

" retreat initiative, where we were able to donate over $800 to the

Project Soar

non-profit group that we've been working with at Peacock Pavilions. It was wonderful to be able to see the group of girls from the village again, and in September we also got to work with their mothers as well and see the difference that this project is making in their lives.

There are 3 Marrakesh retreats in 2015. Join us for a magical week and also to know you're giving back to an worth while cause!

! The very next week was spent with our premier week in Dubrovnik, Croatia and it was a week that exceeded everyone's expectations...bike rides through the wine country, secluded beaches with crystal clear water, yoga in the lush gardens, and the warm hospitality of the Croatian people.

FIVE SENSES YOGA RETREAT - NEW COLLABORATION IN FLORENCE, ITALY

I'm excited to announce a new collaboration with a good friend, and fellow yoga-instructor living in Florence, Italy for this summer! We'll be joining forces to offer a special 5-day event -

unlike any other, which will give guests an unforgettable experience of the Renaissance City of Firenze - it's art, history, fashion, and food - along with daily yoga, meditation and unique activities for the senses.

FLORENCE, ITALY :: JULY 7-11, 2014

Early Bird Discount : Save €100 until Apr 30!

This five day retreat will concentrate on one of the senses per day. Join us in Florence, Italy for an adventure for the FIVE SENSES. We will SEE the sites of this amazing city on a walking tour through hidden and "behind-the-scenes" looks at artisan workshops, famous art works, and more. Next, we learn to FEEL our bodies more with a biking tour through the Chianti and Tuscan hillsides - sun on our shoulders, wind in our hair, and wine on our tongues. Then it's time to SMELL the scents of an aromatherapy massage at a day at the spa, next to an aromatic garden and then a visit to a Florentine perfumery where we learn to create custom essences before learning to smell the 'notes' of a wine tasting! Then we HEAR the sounds of the city from a meditative walk, a visit to a hilltop church with Gregorian chants sung by the monks at sunset, and then to a Florentine concert to end the evening. Lastly, we can't experience Italy without the TASTE of the Tuscan cuisine. Our week will end with a market tour to choose ingredients for a final cooking demo and full tasting lunch before it's "a dopo! (until next time!)

“We love what we do. And we are so thrilled to share this memorable experience with you.” –Erin and Shari, Creators of Five Senses Yoga Retreat
