FAVORITE SOUVENIRS FROM JAPAN

We always look forward to our retreats in Japan, the ‘land of the rising sun.’ We have been able to visit in both the spring for cherry blossom season as well as the current autumn retreat we are on as we speak! Over the years we have quite a collection of souvenirs that we cherish. For those of you that have been on retreat or look forward to going with us one day we would love to hear your comments on what we should look out for. Here are the top 5 things we keep an eye out for to bring home with us…

OUR MOST LOVED VINTAGE TRAVEL INSPIRATION

OUR MOST LOVED VINTAGE TRAVEL INSPIRATION

We are continually inspired by vintage travel posters, postcards and photographs. When we were rebranding last year, these tokens were our main inspiration. Not only for the color and type, but for the memory they provoke. We wanted to share with you a collection of a few from some of the locations we are visiting this year. Hope you enjoy and tha it inspires you to travel somewhere with us in the future!

GETTING TO KNOW / JULIAN HYZLER

GETTING TO KNOW / JULIAN HYZLER

We are so excited to get to know a bit more about Julian Hyzler, one of our wonderful collaborators on retreats throughout the year. We have had the privilege of working with Julian through his company Easel and Lens for years now and he is not only a truly talented painter, but also as anyone that has been on retreat with him knows, and absolute fount of knowledge! He graciously sat down with us and allowed a peak into his history, inspirations and things he looks forward to in the upcoming year…

GUEST POST / LAURA - MINNESOTA, USA

GUEST POST / LAURA - MINNESOTA, USA

Thirteen years. Twenty countries. Countless more to go.

The more I travel, the more it becomes apparent to me that it is in my DNA. As a kid, I loved going on trips – whether a staycation to a nearby hotel or a warm weather getaway to escape the Midwest winters. Despite my love of travel, the first time I left the country was in my late 20s. A year or so later, I decided that I was going to visit a new country every year until something got in my way.
