OTHER THINGS
Things we like, from food to festivals, and just fun little tidbits.
One of the highlights of our Italian retreats is getting to stop off and visit wineries in the Tuscany region. We thought we would give you a brief intro to our favorite four, in no particular order of course;)
Marrakesh, Morocco is one of our favorite locations we visit on retreat every year. No matter what the season, one thing we always make sure we pack are comfortable, stylish pieces that we can use no matter how the weather changes. We thought we would share with you the top 5 things that are in our travel bag and some places we love to shop for these versatile pieces!
We are continually inspired by vintage travel posters, postcards and photographs. When we were rebranding last year, these tokens were our main inspiration. Not only for the color and type, but for the memory they provoke. We wanted to share with you a collection of a few from some of the locations we are visiting this year. Hope you enjoy and tha it inspires you to travel somewhere with us in the future!
Our EPM team are avid readers and we wanted to share with you what we are currently into. We would love to hear back from you any suggestions. We want to make this a place we can share and exchange ideas, so comment away!
We always love catching up on their journal for recipes, informative articles, city guides and so much more. On the blog this week we wanted to share a super simple face mask you can make at home with ingredients you probably already have on hand. Enjoy and take some time to pamper yourself naturally with ease.
At EPM we absolutely love animals! We find their spirits to be both calming and loving while at the same time curious and adventurous. On retreat we get to encounter a variety of different animals from around the world, interacting with some and just marveling at the beauty of others.
As we transition from 2023 to 2024, we are taking stock of the last year, seeking out the truths we have learned and setting intentions for our 2024. In taking a little break this holiday season and letting our bodies and minds rest a bit, we have cleared some space to see what choices we can make in the new year that reflect what is most important to us.
Happy Holidays from EPM! We are so thankful for each and every one of you in our EPM community. Hoping this holiday season provides rest and time to enjoy family and friends. We started discussing in one of our staff meetings what we would like to share as gift ideas as the holiday approaches.
Our awesome collaborator, AMY COMMANDER is sharing with us her recipe for rose almond butter bars. These are the perfect treat to bring to your holiday parties. The rose really makes these something special!
We are so excited to highlight and get to know more about our friend Nicki Storey aka Nicki Positano of THE POSITANO DIARIES! Many of you might be familiar with Nicki from her and her partners popular YOUTUBE channel. Nicki also has a new book she has written and we can’t wait for it to be released!
We want to share this awesome breakfast recipe with you from one of our past guests Avanti Kumar Singh, Ayurveda Expert and MD. Her mission is to share Ayurveda with you, integrating the ancient wisdom of Ayurveda with the best of Western medicine.
We are so excited to have AMY COMMANDER back on the blog sharing her Good Karma Cookie recipe! Below is a link of her in the process of making these delicious treats;) We love that she gives the option to make these vegan. Thanks so much Amy!
We visit so many places around the world, and many of them have featured prominently in film and/or tv. So we thought we would highlight some of them, in case you might not have put them together.
Friend of EPM Margaret was kind enough to write for us to suggest some sanity activities for regular travelers like ourselves who are stuck at home. Margaret is a copywriter and PR professional with insatiable wanderlust. You can check out her work at margaretreeb.com.
As this global crisis continues, people are scrambling to adapt their lives to fit the situation. A huge adjustment for people has been trying to find a way to work with the obstacles of distance. We chatted about this recently and realized, unless you know us personally or have been a regular in our community, you may not know that much about how things work behind the scenes. As a small company, we love being able to be transparent about how we operate and make things happen. So we decided we should share a little here—some of it might surprise you!
These are uncertain times we live in. As we’ve seen over the last several weeks, the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) has impacted the global community in ways we could have never predicted. As travel junkies here at EAT.PRAY.MOVE, the restrictions on international travel (not to mention restrictions on leaving our homes, in some cases) can feel disheartening. And at the same time, we know that this is a time to call upon the tools we use in our yoga practice; meditation, breathing, stillness, acceptance, nonattachment, non-judgment.
Feeling some #wanderlust, or just need to get away? Whether you have to force yourself to take time off or you’re a frequent flyer, traveling can be taxing to the body and spirit. As someone with both a personal yoga practice and a lust for travel, I see no difference in intentionally approaching my practice on the mat and intentionally preparing for a trip. Over the years I’ve developed some tricks to keep myself healthy and happy (not to mention sane) while traveling.
Our admin + guest coordinator, Sarah Roseberry, is not just an employee; she’s also a client, and she wrote a bit about what motivates her to take our retreats, now almost 8 years after discovering us!
On our SOULFUL SNAPSHOT Series we’re sharing some testimonial snippets from our past guests. We adore our guests and love hearing what they have to say!
“I do want to thank you again for planning and offering this lovely trip. It was so enjoyable on many levels and everyone here was so easy to be with. It was a fabulous vacation, one of my best! Our host Julian was most knowledgable, kind and engaging. His knowledge of history, art and culture was quite enlightening. I recommend the trip to anyone... ”
Today’s guest post is one that makes us SO happy! We recently saw that some of our past guests from the US all gathered for a mini-retreat on their own to reconnect as friends, do some yoga and enjoy an enticing location in Palm Springs, CA. One of the things we love most about our retreats is that people from all over the world get to meet other guests who, despite being different ages, nationalities and backgrounds, have similar interests and life philosophies. While we always stress that our retreats are chances to go inward and restore yourself, an added bonus is often the surprising friendships that are formed.
We're happy to introduce you to one of our EPM guests who has joined us in Italy and Morocco and always adds fun, glamour, and plenty of food knowledge and excitement to each retreat. Courtney is the author of the blog, Blonge Voyage Nashville - a Nashville, TN native who has a healthy obsession with culinary delights both at home and abroad…
Happy holiday season everyone. We can't believe it's already that time of year! It's been an amazing past few months for us at EAT.PRAY.MOVE and we're ever-expanding and planning some exciting new things on the horizon.
We always look forward to our retreats in Japan, the ‘land of the rising sun.’ We have been able to visit in both the spring for cherry blossom season as well as the current autumn retreat we are on as we speak! Over the years we have quite a collection of souvenirs that we cherish. For those of you that have been on retreat or look forward to going with us one day we would love to hear your comments on what we should look out for. Here are the top 5 things we keep an eye out for to bring home with us…
