Erin Lewis is a busy lady. Based in Italy, Erin founded EAT.PRAY.MOVE 10 years ago and still plans and leads nearly all of our retreats. We caught up with Erin to ask her some questions that our readers and guests may not already know. Find out more about her below!
We have a new face around here: our new admin intern, Caitlin! Based in NYC, she joins us with a unique background, skills and interests that are right in line with our philosophy at EAT.PRAY.MOVE! We asked if she could tell our guests more about herself, as they might hear from her in the future!
When I was 19, I fell in love with an Indie Kate Winslet film called Hideous Kinky. It was about a young English woman who moves with her two small daughters to Morocco and gets lost in the soul of the place. I watched it over and over, taking in the colorful souks, the music, the sufi poetry, the vast desert and mountain landscapes, pink city walls shaded with orange blossoms and roses and silver pots of sweet mint tea.
We want to be able to offer something to our guests when they aren’t on retreat, so we are committed to bringing you offerings from our retreat leaders to bring you some extra sources of grounding, creativity, energy, and more. First up, we have Jen Carter, who often leads our Mindful Movement retreats with yoga and meditation.
We are so thrilled to finally introduce our newest team member, Sarah Scarborough!
At EAT.PRAY.MOVE, we have been so lucky to cross paths with some incredible teachers in multiple fields of study, and Sarah is no exception. Not only is she a certified yoga teacher, but she is an expert in all things tea related: she is the creator and tea buyer for Firepot Nomadic Teas, a Nashville based company serving the highest quality organic and ethically sourced tea from around the world.
Well, it's that time again. We have an anniversary to celebrate:
EAT.PRAY.MOVE has now held 75 RETREATS!
For all of my life, it has seemed like there are two types of people in the world: adventurous or not. If my beginnings would have told me anything, it would be that I was not going to be much of a traveler. I was the kind of kid that would stress out and get homesick if I went to a friend’s house for a sleepover. (I even took my own food with me.)
This month, we decided it would be fun to introduce our readers to one of our retreat hosts, so we interviewed Nika, our host on our retreat location in Croatia.
As I was scrolling through our photo albums for media photos last week, I got curious. I started counting and realized-- we hit the 50 retreat mark! (Well, technically, we're at 51.) But I thought it was momentous and worth celebrating.
Many of us at EAT.PRAY.MOVE have experienced profound benefits from the practice of meditation...
We're so happy to announce our ever-growing EPM family. Michelle Lee is our newest contributor and will be involved in ourMOVE+MANIFEST retreats...
We're so happy to introduce to you our newest collaborator over here at EAT.PRAY.MOVE! Currently living in the heart of New York City in Soho, Jen Carter teaches yoga and meditation at top New York yoga studios as well as to corporate and private students...
At the very end of June we headed to our home-away-from-home of Italy and enjoyed a week among the sunflowers with a fun group! Since many of the guests were Americans, we even celebrated the 4th of July with a private fireworks show put on just for us on the hillsides of Tuscany. Then later in July we returned to the villa in Tuscany for another week of village tours, Italian cuisine, thermal spa visits, and yoga under the Tuscan sun!
We recently did an IG Live recording hosted by our founder Erin Lewis, with our collaborators TARA STILES (Iceland) and DR. AVANTI KUMAR-SINGH (Bordeaux) about the upcoming retreats we will be doing together. We wanted to answer questions and sit down to get a sense of the general vibe and itineraries for these exciting retreats. If you want to watch the conversation you can head over to our instagram HERE.
