SOUTHWEST, ICELAND

The land of fire and ice, Iceland stands alone as a location unlike any other. Join us where
the unique landscapes are one-of-a-kind, the thermal waters bring healing, and the midnight sun brings illumination.

Why do we love Iceland?

We are not in the minority here—it seems EVERYONE loves Iceland these days! But we were visiting long before the tourist boom. This country is as close as you can get to visiting another planet without leaving our atmosphere. It’s called the land of fire and ice, and that’s an understatement. While it certainly offers thermal waters, volcanic rock and glaciers, it also offers breathtaking beaches, waterfalls that defy scale, stunning wildlife, saturated colors and a culture so unique we learn more with every visit. It truly offers everything we love and search for when picking a location—natural landscapes that force you out of everyday life, architecture and food that give us a taste of the local talent, spaces of relaxation and restoration, and so much more. Whether it’s sitting in healing heated waters or walking the streets of Reykjavik, we love the balance the people of this country have found in simultaneously creating culture AND protecting the land that gives them life.

What is there to experience here?

The list is unending. Waterfalls and geysirs in the Golden Circle, black sand beaches with puffins, emerald green countrysides filled with wild horses, too many thermal pools to count (including the famed Blue Lagoon), national parklands with volcanic rock, greenhouses and cooking bread in the earth, glacial expanses, exploring Reykjavik’s design, architecture and spoken history…it goes on and on. This is a place that looks different around every bend—one minute it’s a Mars-like red terrain, the next it’s mossy green highlands, and that’s just in the summer! In the winter, vast fields of white give you perspective on how small you are in comparison. Whether it’s snowmobiling in winter or hiking in the summer, this landscape offers adventure year round.

Why take a wellness retreat here?

Iceland IS wellness. Time in nature and healing rituals are built into the culture. We spend time in thermal waters, walking and marveling at natural wonders like geysirs and waterfalls, meeting local wildlife, learning about local produce and food techniques, hearing local lore and connecting in the ways we believe to be most mindful. We love locations that take you out of your natural day to day existence and force you to wake up from the doldrums of routine, and we can’t think of a better place to do that than Iceland.
