TUSCANY, ITALY
Come to central Italy for time under the Tuscan sun. Enjoy daily yoga, as well as daytrips to see villages, historic sites, Renaissance and ancient arts, eat mouthwatering cuisine, and experience Italian hospitality.
Why do we love Tuscany?
Very simply, Tuscany is home. Not only is it where our founder is based, but it was one of our very first locations. Doing retreats in Tuscany helped define who we are. Just as Italy was the starting location for Eat Pray Love, it helped us ground our company. Tuscany has the best of both worlds—rolling countrysides of cypress trees and olive groves, and world class cities like Florence. It’s a center of food and wine culture. It’s a Mecca of the art world. It is at once rustic and metropolitan. It’s proof that quality + simplicity are virtues to be celebrated. It is Italy at its finest.
Where do we stay?
Our home on this retreat is on the border of Tuscany and Umbria, in a restored farmhouse in the countryside that is straight out of a movie fantasy of what you think an Italian home will be. A cozy stone and brick abode, this home offers sweeping views of the hillsides filled with poppies or sunflowers, depending on the day. Olive trees and lavender surround the house, which boasts a large art studio, covered terraces and even a pool a short walk away. Food is sourced from their gardens and from nearby Chiusi, and you get to sample it all in a comfortable, family style setting. If you want to have your very own Under The Tuscan Sun experience, this is the place to do it!
Why come on a wellness retreat to Tuscany?
We believe that yoga can be experienced both on and off the mat, and that it is a practice that can improve our lives and lead us into the present moment. Traveling to a new place and experiencing a new culture also helps lead us to the present moment by heightening our senses and putting a mixing up our day to day. Doing retreats here really helped us to define that for ourselves and understand that travel itself is a mindfulness practice. The pace and lifestyle here only reinforce that. Whether it’s strolling through a town, taking in the details of the architecture, or savoring a handmade pasta dish, anything can be a wellness ritual if it’s done with presence.

Thirteen years. Twenty countries. Countless more to go.
The more I travel, the more it becomes apparent to me that it is in my DNA. As a kid, I loved going on trips – whether a staycation to a nearby hotel or a warm weather getaway to escape the Midwest winters. Despite my love of travel, the first time I left the country was in my late 20s. A year or so later, I decided that I was going to visit a new country every year until something got in my way.
Well, it's that time again. We have an anniversary to celebrate:
EAT.PRAY.MOVE has now held 75 RETREATS!
In the next round of our Traveler Testimony, I spoke to Catherine from New York City. Catherine was an actor in NYC and London before transitioning to writing and producing. She is a repeat guest, one of the people we lovingly refer to as our EPM family. She has already joined us in Marrakesh, Croatia, Goa, Tuscany and Iceland! We asked her to give us a little of her perspective on what it's like to travel with us on retreat.

We wanted to share with you a guest post of our recent guest, Arlene, who attended one of the Tuscany retreats this summer. GUEST TUSCANY TESTIMONIALS
EAT.PRAY.MOVE Tuscany was the perfect balance of culture, relaxation, and joie de vivre. Erin curates a retreat that makes you feel the furthest thing from a tourist, exposing you to the local haunts and gems of Tuscany. Thank you for so many beautiful memories made in Tuscany. I can't begin to tell you what an amazing time I had! What an incredible, beautiful, and graceful woman you are. I can't wait to join you around the world again! Thank you.
I do want to thank you again for planning and offering this lovely trip. It was so enjoyable on many levels and everyone here was so easy to be with. It was a fabulous vacation, one of my best! I loved Tuscany, the lovely villa, yoga and the other guests, the food, the wine and the beautiful countryside. Our host Julian was most knowledgable, kind and engaging. His knowledge of history, art and culture was quite enlightening. I recommend the trip to anyone.
I can honestly say I'm still living in a glow of happiness after my trip to Italy. After my trip with Eat Pray Move, I never want to travel any other way. It was in a beautiful setting with a perfectly paced schedule full of arts, food, culture, health and healing. Erin quietly took care of all the details, chose excellent venues and made sure we had time to reflect between the well curated offerings. It made me want to bring a better way of living back to my home.
My wife and I have participated on four EPM retreats. Each time we have been completely captivated by the experience. The locations are absolutely spectacular. The food and wine is local, healthy, fresh and delicious. The daily trips are personal, structured (but not overly so), enthralling, adventurous and chic. This is not your uncle’s travel guide tour. Erin offers an intimate and deeply restorative experience. It is invitation to form lifetime friendships with people who are curious, joyful and fun. Many times we feel like we are not only getting a sense for a place but being invited to peer behind the veil and see what is invisible to many travelers, all informed by Erin’s appreciative eye for beauty, story and style. Finally the yoga is inclusive and healing. I love the music, the settings, the flow and Erin’s ability to meet you where you are at in your practice. EAT.PRAY.MOVE is our first choice for international travel, personal restoration and inspiration. We highly recommend the experience!
