Why do we love Goa?
India is the birthplace of yoga and wellness. We would be nothing without the teachings that have come out of this country. It is only fitting that we visit India and pay homage to the culture that has shaped us so deeply. From yoga asana and philosophy to the healing science of Ayurveda, there is so much to learn here. But beyond that, Goa is actually where the people of Mumbai and Delhi go for vacation—the beaches have long been a secret, but they won’t be for much longer. Sitting on the Arabian Sea, this little paradise is full of cool culture. One can enjoy a morning on the beach, and an afternoon visit a spice plantation, and an evening in the old Portuguese quarters of this region’s capital. We love Goa because it’s a way to ease into the colorful chaos of India in a relaxed way.
Why take a wellness retreat with us to Goa?
Travel to India can be daunting to many. And while some want to take their own pilgrimage there and stay at an ashram, that’s not everyone’s style of travel. With our retreat, you can travel to this most authentic place, the home of wellness, while still staying in lovely, luxurious accommodations, having transport and activities organized by trusted professionals. In addition to our temple visits and time in nature, you can partake in healing spa treatments, learn Ayurvedic cooking and take in the serenity of the region. Traveling with us to Goa is a great way to experience the amazing things that India has to offer, but feel calm and relaxed knowing that the logistics are taken care of.
What is there to do?
Goa is a region which offers so much - from lazy beaches and swaying palm trees for those wishing to relax and enjoy the warm Indian ocean, to cities rich in cultural sites. This area still has many buildings and cultural remnants left from its Portugese past, so the old colonial style Catholic cathedrals stand next to the old ornate Hindu temples, and it's fascinating to see how they live happily side by side. For those into the food culture, there are endless options of cuisine to try, taste, and perhaps even try cooking yourself at many of the Indian cooking classes. On our retreats, we even delve into the lesser-known Indian wine scene, where we learn about the grapes and nuances of the wines from a certified sommelier pairing with a chef tasting menu.
FEATURED INDIA BLOG POSTS
You may remember from our past posts, one of our past guests and collaborators is Rupi Sood, the curator of international arts and culture publication J’AIPUR Journal, an international arts and culture publication telling East-meets-West stories about people and places that inspire. They have a mission to observe, listen and contemplate, an idea that we fully support here at EPM.
Well, it's that time again. We have an anniversary to celebrate:

Hi everyone! It's been a while since we written to you about our Give Back Initiative and we had some exciting new updates. Since the beginning of 2017 we've donated several thousands of dollars to our Give Back partners in Bali, India, and Morocco! Thanks to our guests who've helped make this possible. We believe that we can all "Do Good & Travel Well" and also connect in a meaningful way to the cultures where we visit.
Earlier this year, through our partnership with Magic Bus, EAT.PRAY.MOVE was able to provide notebooks and school bags for 120 children. Many of these children go to a government-run school in Baina, one of the areas most in need in the state of Goa. Here, there is little money to support a child’s education as government-run schools are generally under resourced. Because of this, contributions like ours can go a long way in making a difference in the lives of these children.

Founded in 1999, Magic Bus uses a special combination of Physical Activity, Play, Sport and Mentoring to engage with children and young people living in poverty. Through our sessions, we teach important life lessons that will help those taking part to escape poverty. Over the years, Magic Bus has expanded to helping over 375,ooo children across India.
Magic Bus’s mission: “We will take children and young people on a journey from a childhood of abject poverty and challenges such as child marriage and child labour, to a fulfilling life with a respectable livelihood.
Working with their communities and families, Magic Bus will deliver a programme that teaches life skills and resilience. Working with their schools, Magic Bus will ensure that they attend school and their education is optimised. As these children become adults, Magic Bus will work with them to ensure they have the right employability skills, get jobs and contribute to their communities.”
