OVERVIEW

RITUAL + RENEWAL

It seems like everyone lately is in need of a chance to get away, recharge, and destress. That’s why we’re so excited to offer our first ever US-based retreat for our guests to be able to stay a bit closer to home during this time, yet still experience a much-needed unplugging from the recent way of life.

To better match with the needs and desires of our guests, for this experience we’ve created a 5 day / 4 night getaway which can be seen as a luxurious long weekend! It also includes more on-site activities rather than a packed schedule of site-seeing, in order to really have a chance to relax, renew, and recharge. Taking place at a luxury wellness spa, our time will consist of several practices and activities that can really enhance our body, mind, and spirit. There will be time to relax, a spa day, plenty of stimulating activities on-site, and a morning off-site during a sunrise hot air balloon ride over the desert.

THE HOTEL

This fantastic yoga retreat will take place at the luxurious Civana Wellness Resort & Spa, nestled in the Sonoran Desert, just outside of Scottsdale, AZ. This new luxury hotel has curated an amazing array of picturesque spots on their property where guests can relax - from the spa deck, to the labyrinth stone meditation walk, to the outdoor yoga lawn and cactus gardens. Guests will enjoy spacious room accommodations, all with private ensuite bathrooms and private balcony or patio.

The vision of this location is that guests can really connect with themselves - in body and spirit - and leave changed. Thus we’ll enjoy daily on-site activities with wellness experts - from a guided nature therapy hike to a “floating” aerial yoga meditation, as well as an intention-setting ceremony and mala making workshop.

The spa and pool allow guests to unwind, and a pampering treatment is included in the retreat along with time to enjoy the spa circuit. The Spa recaptures the time-honored art of healing through water in the hydrotherapy thermal circuit of hot and cold pools, cool waterfall shower and beautiful sanarium offering humidity and heat from within. There are both physical and energetic benefits to ‘taking the waters’, an ancient tradition of healing, cleansing and rejuvenation. Every experience begins with this grounding ritual for your personalized spa respite.

CUISINE

Healthful, vegetarian food is part of the retreat experience, including daily lunch and dinners. The culinary philosophy here was born from the belief that true health is grounded in nature. The daily culinary offerings led by Executive Chef Scott Winegard and his culinary team, is plant rich, the food is seasonal and comes from the best local farmers and artisan growers and herbs/greens are grown on site in the garden. Think delicious farm-to-table produce, rich and healthful dishes, and decadent desserts.

The retreat includes daily lunch and dinner, a welcome cocktail reception, as well as a special breakfast in the desert with champagne toast after our sunrise hot air balloon ride. This gives guests an opportunity to enjoy the mornings at their leisure for breakfast as they wish.

YOGA

Daily meditation and yoga classes will be offered in a way to relax, stimulate, and help guests grow in their own personal practice. Classes are open to all levels, beginner to practiced, and can range from gentle and restorative to more vigorous vinyasa flow and ashtanga styles.* Style and class levels will be determined and modified to fit participating students' needs, and with a small intimate retreat class size, students will be able to get personalized attention and comfortability to deeply explore their practice. Depending on each retreat location, classes will be held in a dedicated indoor yoga space and some also offer outdoor options as well for us to use if the weather is agreeable.

Sarah Scarborough has devoted the last twenty years of her life to discovering the history, culture and soul of tea. She has traveled the world to source the finest, ethically and organically grown varieties and to learn the magic of the Tea Ceremony. As a yoga teacher, she uses the ritual of daily tea practice to bring us into the present moment and prepare us for meditation and asana. Sarah lives in Nashville with her husband and two boys and shares the power of tea to connect and change us via Tea Huntress.

* Participation in classes and activities is optional throughout the retreat. All levels welcome!

All team members will participate in ongoing COVID-19 safety and sanitization training.

All staff members are prescreened daily through temperature checks and questionnaires through which they certify the absence of any symptoms related to COVID-19 or exposure to anyone experiencing symptoms related to COVID-19.
