Provence, France

The south of France is the perfect mix of beauty, nature, chic coastal getaways,
and a gentle sense of design. Practice yoga overlooking a vineyard,
walk in the neighboring paths, and enjoy plenty of cheese, wine, and bread!

Why do we love Provence?

Most people have no idea the range of experiences Provence has to offer. Known for its quaint countryside towns, it also boasts mountain ranges, gorges, beaches, islands, vineyards, and more. In the same day you could be visiting a mountain town or sitting in a field of lavender. Whether you’re in a vineyard or on the Cote D’Azur, you are sure to have a definitively French experience, enjoying local cheeses, breads, wine and herbs, which are incorporated into the cuisine creatively. This varied landscape offers a wealth of physical activity—hiking is required for much of it, and swimming is a sweet reward. As if all of that wasn’t enough, the culture here is so rich with history and tradition, in addition to an abundance of art. The towns offer historical tours of the artists that chose this region as their inspiration, and the market culture is still strong, giving a chance to sample the best of the region and take a bit of it home with you, since you won’t want to leave.

Where do we stay?

We have found a home in a charming Bastide near Besse sur Issole, France. This historic stone villa sits above a vineyard, with paths for hiking the surrounding countryside. The property is filled with options for activity—a refreshing pool, pétanque court, life size chess, as well as bikes for exploring—but it beckons guests to take their time, breathing in the lavender, sitting in the shaded yoga pavilion, letting the breeze overtake you. Meals on their terrace are fresh and local, from flaky croissants and coffee in the morning to professional tastings of cheese and rosé in the evening. This quiet home is the perfect place for relaxation and restoration.

Why go on a wellness retreat in Provence?

The French know how to live life. They take their time, being fully present, only bothering with things that are of the highest quality. That really incapsulates our philosophy of wellness. Whether its indulging in a spa treatment, sipping a glass of wine, taking a yoga class or walking the grounds, there are so many ways to rejuvenate here. In addition, it’s hard to cover so much of the region in one week—this retreat gives a beautiful overview of the area in a way that would be hard to do on your own. From time on the pristine beaches to walks in the hillsides, there are so many ways to savor nature and slow down in Provence.

Our upcoming retreats in France will go to benefit the French non-profit organization, “Les Restaurants du Cœur”. The Restos du Cœur’s mission is to "help and provide voluntary assistance to the poor, especially in the food sector through access to free meals, and participation in their social and economic integration, as well as any action against poverty in all its forms "

The Restaurants du Cœur (literally Restaurants of the Heart but meaning Restaurants of Love), is a French charity, the main activity of which is to distribute food packages and hot meals to the needy. The association does not only target homeless but also all those with a low or very low income (single families, old people with a low pension, young adults...). Now the association also helps people to find housing and supports other projects.
