LOCATION TEMPTATIONS
Places were interested in, want to visit, or getting ready for a new place to bring guests. Follow along as we share some tempting reads from around the globe.
We wanted to introduce our newest retreat location… Bath, United Kingdom! We are so excited to get to visit this UNESCO world heritage site. We will give you an overview of our home base for the week, THE ROYAL CRESCENT HOTEL, a five star hotel and spa, as well as a more in-depth look at what we have planned for the week.
A highlight of our Marrakesh retreats is enjoying a guided day in the Medina. Our guide leads guests through an introduction to the souks, artisans and we have the afternoon to shop and discover truly one of a kind pieces to bring back home with us. Discover our top five favorites!
We are looking forward to several retreats in Tuscany this year and thought we would highlight some of the charming Italian towns we visit while there. (Our Itinerary changes depending on the retreat and time of year but this will give you some insight into the region.)
We are excited to share some insight into a new retreat location, the Dolomite region of Italy! We will be collaborating with TARA STILES of STRALA yoga this APRIL and wanted our EPM community to know more about this gorgeous mountain region in northern Italy.
We are featuring Champagne, France as our location temptation this week! We are looking forward to our second annual New Years retreat this January. A few highlights of the region include the famous Champagne village of Epernay, the capital city of Reims and of course the vineyards and various producers of Champagne both small and large. We also spend the day in Paris soaking up the culture and cruising down the Seine.
If you aren’t familiar, we would love to introduce Ravello, a charming village on the Amalfi Coast. It has been named the ‘city of music’ and is known for its jaw-dropping views and ornate garden villas. This enchanting mountaintop town is located on Italy’s most beautiful coastline and its views have captivated countless souls, inspired famous actors, authors, composers, and artists for centuries.
We are excited to learn more about one of our retreat locations, Puglia (pronounced "pool-ya"), a southern region forming the heel of Italy’s “boot”. It is known for its whitewashed hill towns, centuries-old farmland, olive trees, and a gentler pace of life with hundreds of kilometers of Mediterranean coastline.
Madeira is known as the “island of eternal spring”, or “the paradise garden of the Atlantic”, famous for its beautiful mountains, high cliffs, lava pools, magnificent dramatic landscape, greenery, exotic flowers, waterfalls and dark pebble beaches. It’s said to be like a floating botanical garden in the Atlantic, or Europe’s “Hawaii”.
Lake Como, also known as Lario, is the third largest Italian lake (after Lake Garda and Lake Maggiore). Located at the foot of the Alps, Lake Como offers some of the most romantic and picturesque sceneries in the world.
We are thrilled to be going back to Kyoto, Japan! We are so excited to be sharing this adventure with more guests this year, but it can be hard to imagine a trip to a place so unique. This video shows some highlights of our retreat, from ceremonies to shrines to city walks!
We are getting so excited to return to one of our favorite fall destinations: VENICE!!! We go in the fall for several reasons: we avoid the heat and humidity that would be unpleasant for a city that is primarily explored by walking, we avoid the huge crowds that block the narrow winding streets of the city, and we get the beautiful fall light and possibility of Acqua Alta photography. (More on that later!)
There are certain destinations in Italy that everyone knows. The Amalfi Coast. Venice. Rome. But when we started doing retreats in Ischia 8 years ago, no one was very familiar with this island. That’s chaining, but lucky for us, the secret’s not totally out yet!
We want to introduce you to Bonnie, one of our most loyal EPM guests - she's been a friend for years and has attended 13 EPM retreats since we began and is already signed up on a few more on the upcoming calendar! She's an amazing adventurous soul who continues to inspire us with her free spirit. Thanks Bonnie for taking the time to write this post about your experience in Goa!
We recently did an IG Live recording hosted by our founder Erin Lewis, with our collaborators TARA STILES (Iceland) and DR. AVANTI KUMAR-SINGH (Bordeaux) about the upcoming retreats we will be doing together. We wanted to answer questions and sit down to get a sense of the general vibe and itineraries for these exciting retreats. If you want to watch the conversation you can head over to our instagram HERE.
